10 Things Keeping Me in a Committed Relationship with Summer ☀️
A new setting spray I love, the best tanning mitt on the market, and a drying towel your kitchen will love!
It’s still summer and I am clinging onto her with the sticky, unapologetic grip of hands laced in peach juice. I’m feeling absolutely sun-drunk and slightly feral.
Normally by this point I’m flirting with fall, dreaming of soups, and constructing blanket piles tall enough to need a building permit.
But not this year.
This year, I’m still deep in a summer romance, and honestly, I’m not even trying to break it off.
I’m still basking in the golden glow of 8 p.m. sunsets. I’m still loitering next to the grill like it’s my job (well actually, it kind of is 🙃). And I’m treating every tomato like a national treasure (or like it’s my own child, “LOOK AT THIS ONE SHE’S PERFECT!”).
Along the way, I’ve discovered some summer things that have officially made it to “I will scream about this to anyone who will listen” status. So I’m doing what any reasonable (still slightly feral) person with a keyboard and a love for oversharing would do—I made you a list. A SUMMER LIST!
Car Air Freshener : Finally, in the year 2025, we have a car air freshener for these modern times. This one is free of chemicals and it is so pretty and practical. It is extremely affordable and lasts up to one month. For summer, I got the Cabana scent, which is bergamot with coconut. Every time I open my car door I am DELIGHTED!
Melt Glass Setting Spray: I wanted to love the Til Dawn Setting Spray that now has a cult following but it was so drying on my face. When I saw this one I had to give it a try and I am obsessed. It does not dry out my face and I love that it melts my powder makeup for a glass-like finish that lasts all day!
Supernatural Self Tanning Mousse: I love this brand’s gradual self-tanning lotion so I had to give their tanning mousse a try and I love it! It is the longest-lasting tanning mousse I’ve tried, and it leaves my skin so soft with the most natural-looking glow!
The BEST Tanning Mitt: For years I have hated tanning mitts. Why is there not a tanning mitt that is more secure on my hands so I can get the best rub in possible? And of course, I went looking for one a few weeks ago and found this one 🤩 It literally stays secure the whole time!
The Knight & The Moth: I have not had the best summer reading. First, I am attempting to learn French (are you going to Dijon with me in October?!) and that has taken up a lot of my reading time but I’ve also just picked up some not good books. Thankfully, at the height of my rage at the deplorable summer reading I’ve had, I picked this book up. It is Romantasy at its finest. I actually am obsessed with both the Female Main Character and the Male Main Character. Their banter is literally some of the best I’ve read in a Romantasy book. There is a Gargoyle that makes me laugh out loud and now I need one.
The BEST Drying Towel for the Kitchen: I’ve had these kitchen towels for about 4 years now but over the summer I stepped into my local kitchen store and saw they had summer prints out! I had to get the orange and lemon one. Listen, I am telling you, you will not even look at other kitchen drying towels after using these. They are durable and dry rapidly without leaving any fluff or cotton on your dishes. Also, the prints will bring you KITCHEN JOY!!!!
A Shower Head That Made Me Love Showers: My dislike of showers knows no bounds and then a few months ago I started noticing that my hair was looking very dull and frayed after my showers. After trying a lot of different products to see if they would help (they didn’t), I finally decided to invest in a shower head with a filter. I now look forward to my showers! The pressure with this shower head is amazing and feels like a mini massage. It also gets my hair and body completely clean and I am convinced the water being filtered is why my hair has started to look hydrated and sleek again.
My Guide on Grilling the Best Steak: If you are grill-curious you need to get my mini grill guide and try this steak! This was written by someone (me) who used to be terrified of grilling (also me). So I know exactly how to approach getting comfortable with a grill. Also, it has the best foolproof steak recipe with a sauce you will be dipping everything in!
Travel Charging Station: This summer had lots of travel for me (from Canada on Jamie’s boat to Colorado to St. Louis!) and I always had this travel charger with me. It folds up so it is compact, and it can charge my watch, iPhone, and AirPods all at once!
Produce Containers: I finally got some of these produce containers this summer because my refrigerator was packed with summer fruits and vegetables. Not only does it keep my refrigerator organized but my produce lasts so much longer! My mini bell peppers lasted over two weeks and my cucumbers are fresh for over 10 days. I love them!
I don’t do a ton of seasonal decorating, but I LOVE having seasonal Geometry towels for my kitchen! My fav summer one has a blueberry print.
Bri do you have a setting powder you love, or do you opt for the spray only these days?
