The 5 Things Standing Between Me and Total Summer Chaos!!
Asking us to still cook is a bit...much.
Nothing makes me abandon a meal plan faster than…summer🫠
I just want to be outside. I just want to be reading by the pool. I just want to do anything but cook!
Alas, I checked my budget and there was not a line item for, “Can’t cook because weather too nice/too hot…so will opt in for takeout for every meal.” (This line item is a work in progress.)
The thing that does help me stick to my meal plan is prepping at the beginning of the week so I give to you, my meal prep besties!
This clear magnetic meal plan board is pure joy. Seeing the week of meals posted to my fridge doesn't just remind me what's for dinner, it gets me excited for the whole lineup!
These large glass jars store prepped salads, summer pastas, or dips and spreads! We then eat off of them all week. Bonus: the clear glass makes the fresh prepped dishes look so visually appealing so I find myself reaching for them more.
I wash and store my produce in these containers and they stay crisp and fresh all week! I love the little drainage basket that keeps the produce from getting soggy.
(At the writing of this, they are 17% off!)This expandable colander stretches right over any sink! I can wash and dry produce in one container.
It does not matter what I stock my fridge with: leftovers, marinating meats, cold cuts…my fridge always smells crisp and clean because of this fridge deodorizer.
And here we have a dish I brought together in under 15 minutes BECAUSE I meal prepped at the begging of the week!
Cucumbers?! Already washed and ready to go.
Fresh cilantro? Washed and ready to be spread on like confetti!
Jammy eggs? Prepped and just needed to be peeled!
If you want other ideas for quick dishes and things to prep for the week, I have it for you here!
And there we have it! Summer 1, Bri... also 1. We'll call it a tie.
What's keeping your meal plan alive this summer? Tell me your besties, I need to know!

Love these tips! This week we made grilled chicken to use in Greek bowls and extra cucumbers and tomatoes went into tortellini pasta salad. When it's 90 degrees I simply canNOT be bothered to cook. One meal prep on Mondays is all I can manage, and a lot of our summer meals will be snacks. So be it.
